DISCOVERY THE GIANTS OF THE SEA

Assessing the visual impact of offshore installations from the coast is crucial in a region like the Adriatic Riviera, where tourism is a primary source of income. For this reason, Agnes is committed to developing offshore wind farms with the utmost consideration for this aspect.

In our view, “nearshore” wind farms, located 5 or 6 miles from the shore, do not meet the minimum acceptable standards for preserving the integrity of the tourism sector. We believe that the appropriate distance for offshore wind farms is at least 12 miles (approximately 20 km) from the coast, in international waters. The image below clearly illustrates the potential visual impact of a “nearshore” installation on our coasts.

Our wind farms will be positioned beyond 12 miles, becoming a new attraction that will intrigue and captivate our tourists. To enhance this experience, we will offer excursions departing from the ports of Marina di Ravenna, Cesenatico, and Rimini.

Boats equipped with bars and restaurants will take tourists close to the turbines, and the renowned hospitality of Emilia-Romagna will transform this journey into an unforgettable experience. Seeing these giants of the sea up close—some of the largest turbines in the world—will be truly breathtaking. The memory of this incredible experience will leave a lasting impression on tourists from around the world.

The wind farm must seamlessly integrate into our territory, enhancing its tourism value by being positioned at the right distance from the coast, in international waters. The green economy and eco-tourism will work together for shared success.
